Why does it matter?

Bunny Oswaldo posted a comment on this blog, and Sherry was very curious about the identity of Bunny. Her research revealed an apparent connection between a Bunny Oswaldo and Sadiq Gill, (aka S. Sadiq Gill; Suleman Sadiq Gill, attorney at law, lawyer in Richmond, Virginia) one of Staples trial attorney's in the Mutiny on the Boundless trial. The point of this post is to consider the modus operandi of Sadiq Gill, esquire, It's not so much about the comment at issue--it is about the results and implications of an investigation into the possible links between Bunny Oswaldo and Sadiq Gill, esquire. It is left up to the reader to determine whether the evidence shows that Sadiq Gill, esquire, is indeed Bunny Oswaldo, and if so, what insights that provides into Sadiq Gill's M.O.

"Bunny Oswaldo" left an offensive comment on this blog, which was ultimately removed by the commenter (something must have bugged this bunny about his own comment). "Bunny Oswaldo" described Sherry (the author of this post) in disparaging terms and in the opinion of Sherry and others, mischaracterized the evidence on the tape recordings of the assault (referred to in court as the Torture Tapes). Bunny also berated Sherry for using a blog to tell her story, asserting that the blog proved she could not "let go and accept the realities of what happened..." He placed blame on Sherry for what Jeff Staples did to her (which included keeping her bound hand and foot for hours, hog tying her, tying her to a 4 foot broom stick, and duct taping her mouth shut, just to list some of the acts Jeff Staples ADMITTED that he did to Sherry). The comment was not a professional comment on the evidence or the trial, but seemed to Sherry to be posted with the intent to harass and embarrass her.

The comment was posted on January 31, 2011, about three weeks before the final hearing in Goochland Circuit Court. Although the tone and content of the comment suggested it could have come from Sadiq Gill, Staples' trial attorney, it was hard to believe a lawyer would post this anonymous comment on a case that was currently pending in a Circuit Court. Apparently Bunny also backtracked and realized that his comment was inappropriate, because he subsequently removed it. But the question remained: Who was this Bunny Oswaldo? Was "Bunny Oswaldo" actually Sadiq Gill, esquire, formerly of Vandeventer Black, now with DurretteCrump? Did Sadiq Gill, Staples' attorney in the Mutiny on the Boundless case, slink into a rabbit hole of anonymity and post unprofessional comments regarding an active case?

This piqued Sherry's curiosity, and an investigation was begun, following the seeming Rabbit Trail to determine the identity of Bunny Oswaldo. In trying to follow the Rabbit Trail left by Bunny Oswaldo's comments, some interesting information was discovered about "Bunny." First, the picture above, left was found. It is labeled "Bunny Oswaldo" and the resemblance to Sadiq Gill, esquire, is spot-on! Compare Bunny Oswaldo on the left and the photos of Sadiq Gill, esquire, on the right. These photos were found via internet searches. It was fortunate that photos of the search results were taken because the obamicon.me photo seems to have been taken down. Regardless, there's other information that tends to establish or suggest a link between Sadiq Gill, esquire and Bunny Oswaldo.

The reason The Rabbit Trail merits a detour from the story of Mutiny on the Boundless and a whole page of this blog, is that it is important to understand the modus operandi of Staples' lawyers in order to understand what really happened in the months leading up to the trial, the trial and post trial. The Rabbit Trail focuses on Bunny, er, Sadiq Gill. Be sure to also read the tale, below, of Oswaldo the Unlucky Rabbit, It is a true story about Sadiq Gill and Murray Wright, also Staples' attorney, and their failed efforts to reduce Wright's alimony payments (Wright lost, and ended up owing his ex-wife $38,413.42 for her legal fees! Ouch! While it is not unusual for a prevailing party to recover some fees, that was a huge win for Wright's ex-wife!). Again, these posts speak to the M.O. of Sadiq Gill and Murray Wright. The M.O. of Staples' attorneys will be a focal point in the full story of the trial related to the Mutiny on the Boundless.

Search for yourself to find the answers to the mystery of the wild hare, Bunny Oswaldo:

The Rabbit Trail:

This may seem like a rabbit trail, but in fact, the information below does make a point. I will leave that point up to you, the reader, to articulate. Just keep in mind that Sadiq Gill, esquire, along with Staples' friend, Murray Wright, esquire, represented Jeff Staples in the trial over his brutal assault. Again, it speaks to Modus Operandi.

"Bunny Owsaldo" posted an offensive comment on this website essentially defending Staples' brutal conduct and disparaging Sherry. His comments would have one believing that Sherry was Mad as a March Hare. Bunny eventually deleted his own comment, but the Rabbit Trail remains in the "comments" to the page herein. [see remnants of deleted comment on the blog post of 12-13-2010, "Comments to Article"] It was clear that "Bunny" was not just a reader who happened to hop along, but was someone with a personal stake in the trial.

Who is this Bunny Oswaldo?

Summary of four factual findings:

Hard to sort it all out, but here's a summary of some interesting (or not) facts found online:

ONE: Obamicon-me (webicon) photo of Sadiq Gill, esquire, with caption, "Bunny Oswaldo." [See photo above] This photo was apparently created by "silkhope."  Silk Hope is a type of Bike; coincidentally, it appears that Sadiq Gill, esquire, is a bike enthusiast. Clearly, this Bunny Oswaldo is a dead ringer for Sadiq Gill, esquire.

TWO: "Someone" posted as Bunny Oswaldo (bunny.oswaldo@gmail.com) on a website, bikelist.org. [related searches: classic rendezvous; internet-Bob] It appears that bunny.oswaldo@gmail.com also masqueraded as Saul Levin and Chuck Schmidt on this website. [Is that what internet trolls do? This author couldn't sort it all out.]

THREE: Coincidentally, a Sadiq Gill also posts on the bikelist.org website. That person indicated he is a lawyer, and appears to have been associated with the law firm, Vandeventer Black, where Staples' lawyer worked at the time of the Mutiny trial. This Sadiq Gill signed his posts with his latitude/longitude coordinates. Those coordinates point to somewhere near the Westview community (see # 4 below for the significance of Westview). If the Sadiq Gill on bikelist.org is not the same Sadiq Gill, esquire, that represented Jeff Staples in the Mutiny case, there is an astonishing coincidence!

FOUR: According to an article in the Richmond Times Dispatch, in December 2008, a person named Sadiq Gill, who lived in the Westview community, posed as a woman and sent a fake, crude email about a monkey and a sex act to City of Richmond Councilman, Bruce W.Tyler. Another man, referred to herein as "John Doe", apparently the president of the Westview Civic Association at that time, was interviewed in connection with the scandal but denied any involvement.  ["John Doe" has requested that direct references to his name and the names of the companies to which he is connected in this post, be removed. He did not object to the posting of the link to the articles in Biz Sense and the Richmond Times Dispatch which give the details included herein, and which give the actual names of the people and companies referenced. See links below].Sadiq Gill admitted sending the monkey mail, but claimed he thought he was joking with the Councilman and John Doe. Apparently, this Sadiq Gill and John Doe were friends.

Then, in 2013, Sadiq Gill, esquire, now of DurretteCrump, filed a civil lawsuit on behalf of a company of which John Doe was/is director of operations ["Company Z"]. Do the links between Sadiq Gill, Westview, and John Doe suggest that the Sadiq Gill of both stories is Sadiq Gill, esquire, formerly of Vandeventer Black, now with Durrette Crump?  As explained more fully below, the events noted herein are significant primarily because of their potential to establish a link between the Sadiq Gill of monkey fame and Sadiq Gill, esquire. It is noteworthy because of the possibility that it shows an inclination of a certain Sadiq Gill to pen offensive emails while hiding behind anonymity. Does this information provide some insight into the modis operandi of Sadiq Gill? Decide for yourself whether there is ample evidence to suggest that the Sadiq Gill involved in the monkey madness is in fact Sadiq Gill, esquire, Staples' trial attorney, and if so, what this indicates about Sadiq Gill:

The specifics:

1) So we have a webicon photo captioned "Bunny Oswaldo" which greatly resembles the Sadiq Gill who represented the defendant Jeff Staples in this case. [See screen shot, above, of the site which now has mysteriously disappeared, and compare with photo of Sadiq Gill, attorney for Staples, on links provided]

2) Then, there is a website, bikelist.org, [classic rendezvous, internet-Bob] that is used by a Bunny Oswaldo who appears to post as three people: Bunny Oswaldo, Saul Levin and Chuck Schmidt.

3) Then, coincidentally, a person going by the name of Sadiq Gill, whose latitude/longitude coordinates point to the Westview area, and who appears to be an attorney with Vandeventer Black at the time, also posts on bikelist.org. Does this suggest that Bunny Oswaldo could actually be Sadiq Gill? Or, perhaps, he is just hip-hopping along in Sadiq Gill's bunny-eared shadow?

Post by a Sadiq Gill, referencing attendance in court; gives phone number of his office as 237-8805. Note that the phone number of the law firm of which Gill was a member when he represented Staples, Vandeventer Black, is 237-8800. This suggests that the phone number posted here by Sadiq Gill was his direct line at Vandeventer Black.

Latitude/Longitude coordinates used by Sadiq Gill on the bikerlist.org site point
to an area believed to be in or near the Westview area noted in the article below.
4) Finally, according to the Richmond Times dispatch, December 2008, a person named Sadiq Gill, a resident of the Westview community, went incognito and sent a fake, crude email purporting to be from a woman complaining about a monkey performing a sex act, to a Richmond City Councilman. The deputy Commonwealth's attorney described this and other anonymous emails related to the scandal as "crude, juvenile and insulting" and stated that these emails were "clearly sent with the intent to harass and cause embarrassment to the members of Council." Apparently, when the Commonwealth's attorney's office launched an investigation, Sadiq Gill came forward and admitted that he'd sent one of the emails at issue (regarding the monkey and a sex act). [The exact sequence of events regarding Gill's admission was not clear from the BizSense article.] Sadiq Gill explained his actions at the time, claiming that he believed he was joking with the Councilman and another man, "John Doe." According to the Richmond Times Dispatch article, some of the emails had been traced to the "Company Y" on Westwood avenue, of which John Doe was director of operations. John Doe, who had apparently been a political opponent of the Councilman and president of the Westview Civic Association, denied any involvement in the scandal and there were no criminal charges filed against anyone. [Established: Sadiq Gill and John Doe are acquainted and both are associated with the Westview community.]

According to BizSense, in April 2013, Sadiq Gill, an attorney (along with another attorney) filed a suit on behalf of "Company Z." The director of operations at Company Z, John Doe, declined comment.

SO, it is established that Westview resident, Sadiq Gill of the monkey madness, and John Doe, associated with Companies Y and Z, and the Westview community, are acquainted. Is it possible that it was this same Sadiq Gill that later filed a suit for Company Z, of which John Doe was director of operations? Does this suggest that the Sadiq Gill who sent the monkey mail is also the same Sadiq Gill, formerly of Vandventer Black, currently with DurretteCrump, who filed suit for Company Z. Is that the Sadiq Gill, esquire that represented Jeff Staples in the Mutiny Case?

The BizSense story is included here because it potentially links the Sadiq Gill of monkey fame to Sadiq Gill, esquire, Staples' attorney. The point of all this is to determine whether Sadiq Gill, esquire, has an inclination to write offensive comments but does not like people to know it is him saying these offensive things. Kind of like the way "someone" wrote offensive comments on this blog then hid behind "Bunny Oswaldo." [See links below to read articles in full]

Analysis: One could start to suspect that the Bunny Oswaldo who made the comment here was actually Sadiq Gill, esquire, Staples' attorney in this case. It sounds familiar--anonymous statements meant to harass or embarrass someone. If that's true, it would appear that Gill, an attorney involved in an active case, wrote anonymous, offensive comments in an attempt to harass/embarrass Sherry, and/or to try to create the impression that the public agreed with his defense. You decide.

I don't know which, if any, of the Bunny Oswaldos or Sadiq Gills are in fact the Bunny Oswaldo who made the offensive comment here, but I will say that an attorney making comments about an active case in which he is involved should not hide behind a Cartoon Character!!! ... on the other hand ... perhaps he should!

EXTRA CREDIT:

Search for yourself to find the answers. Here are some additional links to pages involving posts apparently made by "Bunny Oswaldo"; not sure how this all sorts out but again, you can see some interesting (or not) connections, and decide for yourself whether this suggests that the person commenting as Bunny Oswaldo on this blog was actually Sadiq Gill, Staples' attorney and if so, what this says about him:

"Bunny Oswaldo" posting as Saul, Chuck? [see prior email showing that
bunny.oswaldo@gmail.com posts as Saul Levin and Chuck Schmidt]

A Sadiq Gill is posting on the same website as Bunny Oswaldo.

Again, is this "Bunny Oswaldo" having a conversation with himself, posing as Chuck Schmidt?

?Now Bunny is from Czech Republic?
